Front Tee
Simplifying tee time management for courses.
Front Tee is a tee sheet management platform built for golf course operators to manage the day-to-day business of scheduling and booking tee times. The software helps course managers organize player bookings, groups, and tournaments while providing a centralized view of course activity and availability.
Front Tee was a powerful operational tool built around a legacy POS system, creating an opportunity to modernize the experience without disrupting the workflows golf course staff relied on every day. The challenge was to identify where the existing experience created friction, understand how customers were using the platform, and establish a more intuitive interface that could work within the constraints of the underlying technology.
Transforming a complex tee sheet with a modern visual language and a clearer, more intuitive experience.
Co-led the design effort with another UX Designer to develop a modern visual and interaction direction for the Front Tee platform. Analyzed customer behaviors and existing workflows to uncover usability issues and opportunities for improvement, then translated those insights into a new UI framework and design patterns. Worked within the constraints of the client's legacy POS system to create a flexible foundation that could modernize the experience while supporting the platform's existing functionality and operational needs.
The work established a modern visual foundation for Front Tee, replacing a dated interface with a cleaner, more contemporary experience. We introduced a more intentional UI system designed around the unique demands of a touch-screen POS environment, where clarity, legibility, and appropriately sized controls were essential. The result was a more polished and usable product that brought a complex golf operations platform into a more modern visual era while continuing to support the fast-paced workflows of course staff.
